Things To Do - Perth Hills

Perth Hills is a large wine region located just outside the city of Perth. The regions landscape is so diverse with its hills and valleys that microclimates are born and thus the region can produce a wide range of wines. The region has five major valleys Mundaring in the centre, Bickley and Carmel to the south and Bindoon and Chittering in the north. The Avon, Helena and Swan flow through the region.

The area is full of passionate boutique winemakers specialising in a range of wine varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Grenache, Merlot, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Viognier. The Shiraz and Viognier have emerged as the key wines of the region.

The region has seen many new developments with the emergence of cellar doors and winery restaurants and cafes. The Perth Hills is a fantastic tourist destination for those who enjoy the countryside, galleries, craft shops, farmers markets, fruit stalls and fine wine and dining.
